Elche (Elx in Valencian) is host to two cultural treasures,
the Palmeral de Elche (Elx Palm Groves) which is
in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the Misteri
d'Elx which was declared one of the Masterpieces
of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
The main attraction of the city is the different
palm groves, parks and gardens with more than 200.000
palmtrees. |

The Parque Natural of Lago de Sanabria (Galende) is located to the northeast of the province of Zamora,
in a mountainous zone formed by the Sierras Segundera
and Cabrera. The Nature Park has a surface of 22.365
hectares and within its limits you can find the
largest glacial lake of the Iberian Peninsula, the
Sanabria Lagoon, with a surface area of 318,7 hectares
and a depth of up to 51 metres. The Reserve is an
excellent place for studying glaciers and there
are numerous walkways to enjoy this magnificent
Nature Park. Among the trees that grow here are
Turkey oaks, chestnuts and holly. The fauna includes
roe deer and partridges, and the numerous mountain
streams are well stocked with trout. |
